Stimulus
Attach images, websites, or videos to questions so participants can see and react to specific content during the interview.
What is Stimulus?
Stimulus is visual content displayed to participants during specific questions. It gives participants something concrete to react to — a design mockup, a product page, a prototype, or a video — rather than relying on memory or imagination.
Stimulus is especially valuable for concept testing, UX feedback, ad testing, and any research where visual context matters.
Stimulus Types
Image
Upload an image file (PNG, JPG, etc.). Displayed alongside the question during the interview. Use for mockups, screenshots, diagrams, packaging designs, or any static visual.
Website URL
Embed a live website in an iframe during the question. Participants can scroll and interact with the page while discussing it. Use for landing page feedback, competitor analysis, or prototype testing.
YouTube Video
Embed a YouTube video that plays during the question. Use for ad testing, product demos, tutorial feedback, or any video content you want reactions to.
How to Attach Stimulus
In the flow builder, each question has a stimulus option. Click the stimulus button on any question card to choose the type and upload or enter the content. The stimulus appears in the interview layout alongside the question.
During voice interviews, the stimulus is displayed in a dedicated panel while the participant speaks. In video mode, it appears alongside the video feed. The layout automatically adapts based on the interview mode and stimulus type.
